Joe is a graduate of Harper Adams University, where he completed his BEng Agricultural Engineering in 2008. Following graduation, he spent his early career working across diverse farming operations, including arable, sheep, and beef farms in Northumberland and North Yorkshire, as well as gaining experience with an agricultural contractor in Somerset.
Joe subsequently built an impressive 13-year career in trade association management, developing expertise across technical guidance writing, auditing, health and safety protocols, and serving on British and European Standards committees. This extensive commercial experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of industry regulations, best practices, and the technical standards that drive agricultural excellence.
Alongside his professional career, Joe and his family operate their own farming enterprise, managing a flock of outdoor lambing North Country Cheviots and New Zealand Romneys. He is committed to continuously improving the performance, quality, and size of the flock while expanding his knowledge of pasture and flock management best practices.
Joe's deep-rooted passion for farming and rural life, combined with his substantial commercial experience, makes him a valuable addition to the Cultura Connect team. His unique blend of hands-on farming experience and technical expertise enables him to understand both the practical and regulatory challenges facing modern agricultural businesses.
Outside the office, Joe focuses on developing his sheep enterprise and enjoys working on his steam roller and attending steam rallies.
