Senior Forestry Manager
The Opportunity: Are you an experienced and dedicated forestry professional, looking for an opportunity to leverage your proven skill set to lead and manage sustainable forestry initiatives? The Senior Forestry Manager will hold extensive knowledge and hands-on experience within the UK forestry industry, based from our client's office in Scotland you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of forestry clients, overseeing the day to day operation and implementing forestry management plans to meet the overarching business objectives. Role Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement forestry management plans aligned to sustainability and business goals
- To oversee forestry operations on behalf of the client to agreed standards and budget
- To develop and maintain client relationships, providing advice and business support
- To manage and secure any grant funding for clients and ensure full compliance with industry standards
- To work collaboratively with the team to ensure the business strategy is met
- To market the timber and explore new opportunities to maximise client investments
Skills you will need:
Essential:
- Proven forest management experience
- Good forestry knowledge and experience of UK Forestry standards, grant applications, and markets
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- A good understanding and experience of timber markets and woodlands products
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- The capability to produce cash flow budgets and work to agreed client budgets
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of GIS mapping systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Relevant forestry or land-based qualification
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (or working towards)
