Lead Forestry Manager

Role Responsibilities:
- To manage forestry estates and woodlands projects for clients, ensuring the delivery of exceptional services always striving to exceed expectations
- To build and sustain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and providing expert advice
- To assess project requirements, prepare cost estimates and secure relevant permissions for contracts
- To develop management plans and secure eligible grant aid funding
- To oversee the day-to-day management of the woodlands
- To develop the forestry division, identifying opportunities for business growth e.g. agroforestry
- To provide leadership and support to the team, fostering continual growth and knowledge exchange
Skills you will need:
Essential:
- Proven experience and success in a forestry management position
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of forestry management including grants, markets and sales
- Experience in securing permission and managing contracts, in compliance with industry regulations
- Chartered membership of CIEEM (or working towards) and an experienced ICF member
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build relationship effectively
- The ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences
- Excellent leadership and people skills
- A decision maker, with strong problem solving skills
- The capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes
- A commitment to environmental conservation and the promotion of sustainable practices
- A UK driving licence with the desire to travel to clients sites
