Senior Forestry Manager

The Senior Forestry Manager will be dedicated to ensure a broad variety of natural habitats are established and maintained through our client's woodlands. Role Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with senior management team to ensure the aims and objectives of the organisation are met
  • To create and provide management plans to develop and enhance the natural habitat
  • Management of a team, aiding and supporting their professional development
  • To ensure compliance with industry standards throughout the business
  • To keep up to date on eligible industry grants and funding schemes
  • To establish and develop relationships with stakeholders, external agencies, and partners
  • To actively promote the values and standards of the business to the wider community

Skills you will need:


  • A degree in forestry, land management or a related subject
  • Proven experience and knowledge of forestry management, wildlife habitat and conservation
  • An understanding of environmental legislation, health and safety and grant schemes
  • Experience of working and using QGIS or other GIS mapping systems
  • Proven experience of managing a diverse team
  • Excellent leadership and people skills
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple workloads to agreed deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven and motivated with a positive work ethic
  • A strong team player who can work autonomously when required
  • Excellent IT skills, data reporting and proficient in the Microsoft office suite
  • A passion and desire to work outside, fully committed to conservation and the environment
  • A clean UK driving licence with the willingness and desire to travel daily


  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of mentoring and staff development
